MAKE BELIEVE! by ONE FASHION PLACE

Is your Style Based on You or on Make Believe?

Therein lies a secret ingredient of the Fashion Business...Fantasy!

Everyone wants to be bigger than life, feel the freedom of expression and feel like a million bucks. Fashion can deliver these feelings, but the clothes aren't magical, if you don't know who you are, it's just Make Believe.

With Fashion you can be a different person everyday. You can wear colors, textures, fabric and patterns to reflect your mood and attitude about yourself.

Glamour styling reflects a life of luxury, the good life they say. People recognizing certain name brands you wear and associating them with success or being well-to do, can deliver a glimmer of self-esteem, but if you don't really feel this way about yourself, it's just temporary, just Make Believe.

Yes, with Fashion we can be whomever we want to be, at least on the outside. So who are you today? Are you a follower, a servant, a person non-descript of your own unique personality, motivations and goals? If so the Fashion Industry will decide who you are (and you may not like it), they will command your presentation of yourself and thus the perception of who you are inside.

On the other side stands the person who knows who they are. They are comfortable and secure with most of the decisions they've made in their life, or at least at this point, they have figured out who they are, what they represent and what they want.

Now this person will don, wrap or embrace themselves with who they are, their style, instead of someone else's (Make Believe). This is hard for young people with no bank of experience yet, and sad for older ones who never figured it out.

The balance is to just be who you are, enjoy your creativity, artistry and how you see the world. Now just find the clothing that reflects that. Now of course there are times when we all want to stretch out a bit, and do something out of the ordinary for us. This adds a little lawry's seasoning salt to our flavor. Then be your own on personal Ebony Fashion Fair (it's coming back ya'll) or Vogue Magazine.

Go for it, just be sure it's fun and refreshing,
not overly offensive (for shock value), or just to impress someone...it won't come off right be-
cause it's not you. Like wearing the wrong size shoe. Never wish you were someone else, you're not, just be the best you!

As far as the word Believe, let's believe only in the things that are real, important and elevate the meaning in our lives. Treat yourself sometimes, you deserve it, and love those that add value to your life.

Fashion can be many things, but mostly it's represents a thread of how you feel about yourself. Once you know that and it's positive, you'll always look good.

Fashion Star Review by ONE FASHION PLACE!

"FASHION STAR"
as reviewed by ONE FASHION PLACE!

So the New Kid on the Block is "Fashion Star"...the concept is awesome. It's every designers dream to have their Fashions/Designs seen, purchased and donned. Upgrade that dream to have millions of people see your artistry, and then to have it critiqued by Fashion Mentors and ultimately purchased by Major Houses on the spot.

As it that wasn't enough how about having it merchandised the very next day! That's crazy hot! OK, but there's one problem, what if all of this doesn't quite translate the way it sounds. Hmmm, OK so we'll give it another chance, but the Show was dry and glam-less.

The Mentors were one dimensional, the designers didn't really seem inspired, just nervous about feeling that their creativity wouldn't be confirmed by experts in the Industry and I know it's about the clothes, but the production just seemed kinda boring.

Shown is our Fav design pick from the Show...incidentally does anyone know where they are getting the Models from?

What did we like, the Buyers. They were straight to the point about whether to spend tens of thousands of dollars, and why or why not. Big tips for aspiring designers.

So now what? We think the show has a lifeline, if the products sell in the stores and especially online (helping to eliminate the costs of it being a in-store stock item).

Hopefully the producers will consider soft critiques, like ours and make a few adjustments towards finding the next Fashion Star...and maybe they can stop by ONE FASHION PLACE!

Can a Shorty be a Model?,

So can a 4' 11" female be a working Model? Ok well, we got a referral call from a very energetic Talented young lady who wants to Model. Hmmm, of course this is not the first time, so we kinda have a few standard lines which we really hold true to. First, I've always been taught that the right person can do anything. Secondly, if Bill Gates was behind you and you wanted to be a Super Model, guess what you'd be, a Super Model. So you can never tell a person what they can't do. So what did we tell her, we said to send in your submission for our review, we explained that every Model isn't on the Runway, just like every celebrity isn't a Movie Action Star. So we gave her a Photo Interview Assignment, a standard practice for us, meanwhile we asked about her other Talents. Turns out she is a R&B Vocalist, so we asked her to do a few bars, she has a great voice! So we explained that we work with a person's strength first, and that will open other doors and if wielded properly, it will also strengthen your weaknesses. She was very appreciative for our direction, however we will receive her Photo Assignment in 2 days and will review her Modeling potential as we agreed to, she may blow us away! This segment of our operation is called TipMasters. Visit OneFashionPlace.net

Real working Models

So in today's fashion scene there are so many opps for Models & Fashion as never before. However it seems that many that are described as Talent (the Models) are not being represented properly, in many cases because they are trying to Rep themselves. This is not the best way to do this! It undermines the market and ultimately the Industry. Models end up working for perks (not money), momentary Celeb status (being around real Celebs) and unfortunately getting into or being introduced to things they were not intending to be exposed to. So currently I'm trying to identify Models who are looking for Real Paid Work, but who are savvy enough to allow an Agent to work for them. Yeah, the Agent gets a percentage, but you get paid & we handle the hassles for you. Working with OneFashionPlace.net will help in this effort.
